Eensgevonden is the perfect rural retreat for a getaway from the busy life of the city.  You can relax, watch the birds, see the scenery and stroll in the vineyards.  Or you can hike in the mountains – there are plenty of peaks right on the farm’s nature reserve. Or you can get out and about and discover the jewel that is the Breede River Valley.  Wineries, walks, MTB trails, fishing, horse-riding, restaurants, shopping, mountain scenery, botanical gardens and beautiful vistas.  The region has plenty to offer, and will keep you just as busy or as relaxed as you want.

Eensgevonden lies in the Breede River Valley, possibly the most diverse and bountiful wineland in South Africa.  The farm’s grapes produce some of the finest wines through the Uniwines cooperative, which has the four cellars – Daschbosch, Goudini, Palesa and Meander.

The four cellars have a tasting venue at Sneeukop where Eensgevonden wines can be sampled and purchased.

You can walk around the vineyards of Eensgevonden and watch the grapes ripening in the summer sun, or explore either of the two nature reserves on the farm.  The mountain reserve has a waterfall with a rock pool you can swim in warm weather, and hiking trails deep into the heart of the valley.  If your are more adventurous you can scale the heights of Bloukop (700 m) or Quen Victoria Peak (1300 m) for stunning views of the whole Breede river valley.

The farm is home to a surprising array of widlife. You’ll find bok trails, porcupine quills, the farm’s ducks and peacocks plus an endless variety of wild birds.  More than 90 species of bird have been observed on the farm.
